Ross Downing Chevrolet is a leading automotive dealership known for quality, reliability, and excellent customer service. We are currently seeking a motivated Automotive Sales Consultant to join our team in Hammond, LA.

Job Details

• Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience

Responsibilities

• Greet customers on the sales floor and conduct a needs analysis to understand vehicle preferences and requirements.
• Explain vehicle features and demonstrate operation in the showroom or during test drives.
• Research model availability and optional equipment using computer databases.
• Negotiate sales price, including taxes, trade-in allowance, licensing fees, discounts, and financing or leasing terms, in collaboration with Sales and F&I Managers.
• Perform visual inspections of inventory on the lot.
• Complete all sales paperwork and coordinate vehicle delivery and registration.
• Orient customers on vehicle operation upon delivery.
• Participate in required training sessions and department meetings.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Work Environment

This is a fast-paced, customer-focused in-person role requiring excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

• At least one year of related sales experience or an equivalent combination of education and training.
• Strong sales skills with excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to organize and follow up consistently with clients before and after sales.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to speak a second language is preferred but not required.
