Position Overview

We are seeking a detail technician to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of company and customer vehicles. This role includes washing, waxing, and ensuring the dealership’s vehicle inventory is kept in excellent condition.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Wash and wax vehicles efficiently using high-pressure wash and power waxing equipment.
• Follow instructions from Sales and Service Managers regarding vehicle preparation.
• Ensure all vehicle keys are tagged properly and correspond with vehicle descriptions.
• Inspect vehicles to identify any additional safety or service needs and report them promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop area and dealership equipment.
• Supervise apprentice technicians as assigned.
• Comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous waste disposal guidelines.
• Respect dealership policy by not using customer vehicles for personal errands.

Work Environment and Schedule

This position typically requires a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime and a rotating Saturday schedule. Work is performed indoors and outdoors year-round and may involve exposure to dust, exhaust fumes, and other materials.

You will be required to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Wearing a dealership uniform is mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience as a detail technician is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Ability to read and understand written and electronic instructions.
• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Good judgment and reliability.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Physical and Work Conditions

• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and environments.
• Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the day.
• Willingness to wear dealership uniform as required.
• Flexibility to work occasional overtime and rotating Saturdays.
